Kem Motivasi Persatuan Peniaga-Peniaga OKU Selangor

On the 7th of July, Koperasi Diabetes sponsored a dinner for Persatuan Peniaga- Peniaga OKU Selangor Team Building at Nur Bukit Unggul Eco Resort, Sepang. This program is also part of our CSR program as it is about time for us to give something back to the community. As usual we are there to promote our campaign and also to give morale support for the OKU. Mr. Norman, CEO of Koperasi Diabetes Malaysia & Persatuan OKU Selangor was also there to give his support while he is also an OKU himself. It was a two day event filled with activities and motivational talk. These are some of the pictures of the event.

Bukit Jelutong Music Festival

On the 30th of June, KN & I attend an event at Shah Alam. Bukit Jelutong Music Festival is a project organise by the committe of Bukit Jelutong and also CABJ.

The event was filled with performances, interactive games and booth sale. As usual, we were there to promote our campaign to the public especially the youth. The crowd were very supportive towards our campaign where they take their time to listen to our explanation about Diabetes and we also found out that some of their parents are suffering from Diabetes. We caught people's attention with our flyer and we also took some pictures over there.These are some of the pictures of our supporters.

UNITENGUA! 2012

Koperasi Diabetes opened a booth at Uniten Gua, an event organized by Uniten students on the last 23rd June 2012. The event was held at UNITEN Bangi from 11am to 11pm filled with activities like flash mobs, fashion show, theatre, and mini concert by our local bands like Estranged, Couple and OAG.

Youth Movement Koperasi Diabetes team were there to promote our campaign, "Say No To Diabetes". Besides that, we are also selling flavoured iced latte to attract visitors to come to our booth and at the same time to let people know we can still enjoy our favourite drinks without the used of sugar. We concocted four delectable flavours on that day; Normal latte, Mocha, Sweet Vanilla and Butterscotch. All of the lattes that we sold were based by Daily Right 3 in 1 coffee mix, sugar free and sweeten with stevia syrup.

Our latte sales were not good that day as there were too many other stalls selling beverages as well. We face other difficulties like power failure several times and we think that the management of the event was not managing the event smoothly.They should have put a certain quota for beverage vendors to make the bazaar a success. Apart from that, we can see how visitors still prefer sugar loaded drinks while some were intimidated with our booth and said,"We're still young. We won't get Diabetes". However, there are still quite a number of people that were interested with our caused and turns out that tsomeof the people who visited our booth are Diabetic Type 2 and all of them is below 25. Others were surprised by how our latte is sweet & delicious eventhough there is absolutely no sugar added in the drinks. We were thankful that at least we can let the visitors noticed us and aware about our campaign.

Overall, the event was something for us the Youth Movement Koperasi to learn and analyse about public reactions towards our campaign. We managed to "shock" people with our statement, "SAY NO TO DIABETES" and we will do it again.
